En participant en 1990 au programme d'aménagement urbain de la ville de Lyon, et en accompagnant l'évolution des grands fabricants de mobilier urbain, Marc Aurel a suivi le développement de sa discipline et contribué à l'émergence d'une spécificité urbaine.

Au cours d'un entretien avec Fabrice Pincin, il nous parle de création, de ville, de décor, nous raconte son parcours professionnel et nous livre également toutes ses réflexions sur le devenir de l'espace public.

This book bears witness to a vision of urban development in France, and to the European development of « urban street furniture design » over the past 20 years, through a selection of projects by designer Marc Aurel.

Through his 1990 participation in the City of Lyon urban development program, and in accompanying major street furniture manufacturer in their own development, Marc Aurel's career bas followed that of his discipline while permitting his contribution to the emergence of a very special aspect of the urban landscape.

Throughout his interview with Fabrice Pincin, he speaks to us of his creative work, of the city and its decoration ; he describes his career to us and also shares his thoughts on the future of public space.
